Tie, Pocket Square and Cufflinks: Getting the Set Right

Terracotta Rose Boutonniere with Twine Wrap

Most men own ties. Fewer own a pocket square or cufflinks that actually go with them. That gap is why we started carrying complete tie sets: one box, everything coordinated, ready to wear.

What comes in a set

Our premium imported sets include a jacquard silk-finish tie (146 cm × 7.5 cm, a classic width that suits most collars), a matching pocket square and polished cufflinks. Our 5-piece sets also add a sleek tie pin.

Complement, don’t copy

The pocket square should share a colour or pattern with the tie, but it should not look like an offcut of the same fabric. Our sets are designed this way, so the square picks up the tie’s tones without matching it thread for thread.

How to fold the pocket square

For the office, a flat straight fold with a thin line showing above the pocket is neat and quiet. For weddings and evening events, try a puff or a one-point fold for a softer, fuller look.

Cufflinks need French cuffs

Cufflinks are made for double (French) cuffs. If your shirt has regular button cuffs, keep the cufflinks for a later outfit or a gift.

Where the tie pin goes

Place the tie pin between the third and fourth shirt buttons, and keep it no wider than the tie itself.

A boxed set also makes one of the easiest gifts for a father, a groom or a colleague. See our tie sets
